Que Cunningham, BS Assistant Career Readiness Director

 
 

Que Cunningham (she/her), PowerTools’ Assistant Career Readiness Director, collaborates with her colleagues to develop and implement a Career Readiness curriculum for the BlocPower Civilian Climate Corps Program. Such work entails co-facilitating career readiness classes, building a solid foundation from which CCC members can build and demonstrate requisite core competencies that broadly prepare them for success in the workplace and in life career goals. 

Que is a passionate advocate for criminal justice reform. Her passion is informed by real life experience. Que was formerly incarcerated in an all-male facility in a New York State prison. During her incarceration, Que started the first official LGBTQ non-profit Organization, and Gay Pride Event in the New York State Department Of Corrections Community and Supervision (NYSDOCCS). She also provided re-entry skills to a wide range of incarcerated individuals. More recently, Que has been a member of the Justice Advisory Committee in New York.

Aside from her passion for justice, Que has had amazing experiences as an athlete. In high school, Que was a world class race walker. She competed in the Junior Olympics National Outdoor Track and Field Championships,U.S. National High School Scholastic Indoor/Outdoor Track and Field Championships, and many more elite track and field events. She even qualified for the 1996 U.S. Track and Field Olympics Trial Games!  Que has a BS degree in Organizational Management from Nyack College, as well as an Associates Degree in Liberal Arts, also from Nyack College. She’s looking forward to receiving her Masters Degree and PhD.
