Sadé Dinkins, M.A., Program Consultant

 

Sadé (she/they) has played many important roles at PowerTools. She is currently a program consultant, and was formerly a Career Readiness Director of NYC BlocPower’s Civilian Climate Corps, a workforce readiness and gun violence prevention program. Prior to that role, Sadé was PowerTools’ Operations Lead.

Sadé is a Staten Island native with a passion for community, education, and advocacy. With an educational background in African American History, Visual & Media Studies, and Education, they have developed a deep devotion to sociopolitical justice, collective healing, and utilizing art & history to imagine and create inclusive futures. In addition to her role at PowerTools, Sadé is an educator and community organizer. Apart from classroom teaching, Sadé has created spaces of co-learning around the topics of Afrofuturism, Womanist Theory + Intersectionality, Hip Hop, and more. Her goal is to be a resource to her community in any way she can!

Sadé has a Bachelor’s Degree in Arts in African & African American Studies and a Bachelor of Arts in Visual & Media Studies from Duke University=. She also has a Masters of Arts in Teaching (MAT) from Relay Graduate School of Education.
