Zakiya Spears, M. Ed, Program Consultant  

Zakiya is an educator, motivational speaker and youth advocate. Zakiya first began her formal practice in 2011 as a member of the Urban Teaching Corp., an organization focused on developing a group of passionate and committed educators to teach urban youth. During her time as an educator, Zakiya led communities as a teacher, instructional leader, school culture coordinator, operations manager, Zumba instructor and now, school culture consultant. Zakiya holds a BA in Psychology from Spelman College in Atlanta, GA and her Masters in the Art of Teaching from Relay Graduate School of Education. She is the founder of Zak in Action and The CulturEd Communities and is the creator of the Vision 2 Action Theory where she focuses on supporting individuals in clarifying and actualizing their personal and professional goals. She lives in Brooklyn, NY with her husband Michael, their son Julian and their two cats – Phillip and Lillian.
